Mammoth Cave Campground
The park’s main campground, sitting right near the visitor center and historic cave entrance, Mammoth Cave Campground is the natural base for anyone here primarily for the cave tours rather than backcountry hiking. Sites offer flush toilets and potable water, some with electrical hookups, and the campground’s central location means an easy walk to the visitor center for tour check-in rather than a drive each time. Given the park’s above-ground trails and the Green River are also close by, this makes a solid all-around base whether your visit is entirely cave-focused or you’re mixing in a hike or canoe trip. Reservations are recommended for peak season (spring through fall), especially around popular tour times.
