Jedediah Smith Campground
Set among some of the tallest old-growth redwoods in the entire complex, Jedediah Smith Campground sits along the Smith River in the northern section of Redwood’s jointly-managed parklands, genuinely one of the most impressive redwood settings anywhere on the North Coast. Sites offer flush toilets, potable water, and hot showers — real amenities compared to most redwood-area camping — with both tent and RV spots available. Its location puts you close to the Boy Scout Tree Trail and Stout Grove, two of the most rewarding short walks through the tallest trees in the complex. Given its popularity and limited size, reservations for summer months are worth securing well ahead of your trip.
