Lodgepole Campground
The largest and most central campground in Sequoia National Park, Lodgepole sits close to Giant Forest and General Sherman, making it the natural base for anyone here primarily to see the world’s largest tree by volume. Sites offer flush toilets, potable water, and coin-op showers through the nearby village, genuinely more amenities than most Sierra Nevada park campgrounds. Its location along the Kaweah River adds a scenic backdrop, and the short shuttle ride (or drive) to Giant Forest and the Moro Rock trailhead makes this a convenient, if popular, choice — reservations for summer dates fill up well in advance given how central the location is.
