The largest campground in Grand Teton, Gros Ventre sits along the Gros Ventre River on the park’s quieter eastern side, offering a real alternative for anyone shut out of the more famous (and far smaller) Jenny Lake Campground. Sites accommodate both tents and RVs with some electrical hookups available, plus flush toilets and potable water — genuinely more amenities than most Teton-area campgrounds offer. Being farther from the mountains themselves, this campground trades a bit of scenery for a much better shot at actually getting a site, and its size and location make it a practical, family-friendly base for exploring the broader park without the intense competition for Jenny Lake’s handful of spots.
