The Shark Valley Visitor Center is the park’s northern entrance, closest to Miami, and it is the starting point for the Shark Valley loop road and tram. Inside are educational displays, a park video, brochures, a gift shop, restrooms, and tickets for the narrated tram tour. A touch table and Braille restroom signs make the exhibits more accessible, and the visitor center includes captioning. The area is known for the observation tower with a 360-degree view of the sawgrass prairie and for alligators sunning right along the paved loop. It is the easiest way to see the Everglades if you are visiting from the Miami area and do not have time to drive south to the main entrance.
