The Rim Visitor Center is a small seasonal building at Rim Village, near Crater Lake Lodge and just steps from the edge of the caldera. Rangers staff it for much of the summer, answering questions and offering ranger information, and the park’s cooperating association runs a souvenir store here. Its best feature is what is just below it: a stone staircase leads to the Sinnott Memorial Overlook, a covered viewpoint perched on the cliff with geology exhibits and a relief model of the caldera, and many of the park’s interpretive displays live there rather than in the building itself. Come here for a ranger chat and a first look at the lake, since you can see the water almost as soon as you step outside.
