The Denali Visitor Center, at Mile 1.5 of the Denali Park Road, is the main welcome and information center for the park in summer. It is a large building of about 14,000 square feet with interactive exhibits, and rangers answer questions about wildlife, weather, and how to plan around the park’s shuttle buses. The center is part of a small campus near the entrance, with a restaurant, a bookstore and gift shop, a bag check, a bus stop, and the Alaska Railroad depot all close by. Because most of Denali is seen from the park bus rather than a private car, this is the place to sort out your day, check what is running, and decide how far into the park you want to go.
