The Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center in Moose is Grand Teton’s largest and main visitor center, a 22,000-square-foot building that opened in 2007. Its exhibits explore place, people, preservation, and mountaineering, and highlights include a large relief model of the park, life-size wildlife sculptures, children’s exhibits, an art gallery, and a 154-seat auditorium with views of the Teton Range through big windows. A bookstore run by the Grand Teton Association is inside. Rangers give programs such as a daily geology talk at the relief model. It is the best first stop in the southern part of the park, and the Menors Ferry area and trails are close by.
