The Arctic Interagency Visitor Center in Coldfoot, at milepost 175 of the Dalton Highway, is the best-known visitor center for Gates of the Arctic and serves all the public lands of the Alaskan Arctic. It is run jointly by the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and it sits outside the park, which lies north and west of Coldfoot. Rangers can help with trip planning, weather, and recent wildlife sightings, and you can get a passport stamp here. It is open in summer only, so it is mainly for visitors who drive the Dalton Highway or who fly out of Coldfoot with an air taxi.
