The Apgar Visitor Center is the main stop for visitors entering Glacier National Park from the west, near West Glacier. It relocated to the Apgar Transit Center, at a T-intersection about a mile north of the West Entrance Station, and the new location offers visitor information, pick-up and drop-off for the park shuttle and tour services, a Glacier National Park Conservancy store, and restrooms. Rangers can help you plan around the Going-to-the-Sun Road, shuttle schedules, and which areas are open. The small building in Apgar Village that used to hold the visitor center now offers public restrooms but is not the main center. It is a good first stop before you head up the Going-to-the-Sun Road or down to Lake McDonald.
