Things to Do:

Walking a stretch of the Rim Trail, with stops at Mather Point and Yavapai Point, is the essential, easy introduction to the canyon. For a taste of hiking into it, the Bright Angel Trail's first mile or two down (and back up) gives you real perspective on the canyon's scale without committing to a full descent.

If you're an experienced hiker, a rim-to-rim trek (South Rim to North Rim or vice versa) is a genuine bucket-list achievement — but it requires serious planning, permits, and fitness, not something to attempt casually.
