Timber Creek Campground
On the park’s quieter west side near Grand Lake, Timber Creek is the only developed campground on this side of the Continental Divide, and sees noticeably fewer visitors than the busier campgrounds near Estes Park. Sites offer flush toilets and potable water, no hookups, and the location makes it a strong base for exploring the west side’s trails and the town of Grand Lake without the long drive over Trail Ridge Road each day. Given Trail Ridge Road’s seasonal closure (typically closed by snow from roughly October through late May), this campground’s usability is tied closely to that road’s open season if you’re planning to cross to the east side during your stay.
