Houchin Ferry Campground
Lodging Type: In-Park Campground
Price Tier: $
A small, quiet campground along the Green River, Houchin Ferry sees a fraction of the visitors that the main Mammoth Cave Campground does, making it a genuinely peaceful alternative for anyone who’s already done a cave tour and wants to slow down. Sites are primitive, with vault toilets and no potable water on site, no hookups, and no reservation system — it’s first-come, first-served only. Its riverside location makes it a good base for canoeing or fishing on the Green River, a quieter side of the park most visitors skip entirely in favor of the cave.
