Manzanita Lake Campground
The largest and most popular campground in Lassen Volcanic National Park, Manzanita Lake sits right by the park’s northwest entrance on the shore of its namesake lake, with a genuinely picturesque view of Lassen Peak reflected in the water on calm mornings. Sites offer flush toilets, potable water, and coin-op showers through the park’s camp store — real amenities compared to most of the park’s more primitive options. Its location near the entrance makes it a convenient base whether you’re headed deeper into the park toward Bumpass Hell or just want an easy lakeside stay with kayak and canoe rentals available nearby. Given it’s the most developed and accessible campground in the park, this books out fastest — reserve well ahead for peak summer season.
